It’s New Year’s Eve and we are super excited to watch the ball drop and ring in the New Year!. Dinner with the Carothers, lots of Champagne punch, and some sparklers… A perfect night for us!

This week Davy and I are working on his ‘Around the World Project’. Each child picked a country and somehow he ended up with the United States. On Friday, he is to bring in a model of something representing his country and he picked this 950 piece 3D puzzle. It’s gonna be a fun week putting this together… 🙂

It’s the day after Thanksgiving and per our family tradition, off we go to Sickles High School to pick out our Christmas tree. This year Matty got to pick out our tree. He did a great job, the tree is really pretty. Here we are waiting for them to shake up, fresh cut, and wrap up our tree.

Every year I volunteer for the class Shades of Blue project. Today we met with Matty’s class so each child could assemble their piece. His class project this year is a piece of abstract art that will hang on the wall. Each child was given a ball of model clay, they smashed it down, and then adorned it with a few of their favorite things from home that represent that child. Matty took in: a minion, a lego guy on a car, a GI Joe mini figure, a small soccer ball sticker, etc. Once the pieces dry Erica is going to mount them on canvas with a navy square in the middle. So far, it sounds and looks pretty awesome.

Alvarez Pumpkin Carving Party
Tonight we were invited over to the Alvarez’s for a Pumpkin Carving Party. The boys were super excited and had a wonderful time playing with their friends. Us grownups… we enjoyed a relaxing evening of great food, great company, and a little Alabama football…
