Kelly’s Patchwork Quilt

To make her quilt I used two Paris Flea Market Layer Cakes.  Kelly loves patchwork patterns versus a block pattern, so this one’s for her!

Rochelle’s Pink and Teal Quilt

We are getting ready to sprinkle Rochelle as her due date for baby Eli is fast approaching.  Although we are giving her a ton of things for the baby, I thought that it would be nice to give her something just for her.  I had asked her what her favorite colors are and she said pink and teal.  I picked this pattern because it is simple and looks great when you only have two main colors.

Mom’s Hearts of Love Birthday Quilt

For Mom’s birthday, I told her that I would make her a quilt.  I let her pick out the fabric colors, but I got to pick out the pattern.  After looking at hundreds of patterns, I picked this one because I want it to remind her that I love her every time she sees it… 🙂

Handprint Animal Quilt

Here is this year’s Shades of Blue auction project for Davy’s class.  We had a lot of fun making this quilt and think that it turned out beautiful!

Jennis Friendship Braid Quilt

photo (3)I decided to surprise Jenni with her quilt.  Dad knew that I was going to make her one too, so he suggested that I make it in blue’s and brown’s because those are two of her favorites.  So that is what I did!  The quilt pattern is friendship braid, with a freehand quilt style.  Her quilt isn’t all that large, more of a lap quilt since she likes to lay on the couch.  Hope she likes it!…

Dads Black and Yellow Quilt

photo (3)Back on November, I asked Dad what colors he wanted in his quilt and he quickly says, “Black and Yellow, from my alma mater St. Olaf”.  Ok.  So I thought and thought about what pattern to use and I finally decided on this one.  I was trying to stay away from anything that had stripes because I didn’t want it to look like a bumble bee.  I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not when all was said and done, but I actually do!  I think it came out quite beautiful and I love the swirl quilting pattern that I put in it…  Hope he loves it too!

Starstruck Pinwheel

For Christmas this year I decided to make mom a couple of throw pillows for her couch.  I originally saw this pattern on Pinterest and since then I have seen it in several other places as well.  It is beautiful and can be done several different ways, but I liked these colors and I hope that she does too… 🙂

Davys Quilt

Earlier in the year, Davy asked me when I was going to make him a quilt.  I didn’t think he was really serious about it except that he then asked me several more times throughout the summer and the fall.  So, I decided to make him one for his birthday.  The next question was what pattern would I do?  After weeks of looking at patterns and thinking about the colors, Davy and I were shopping for some fall fabric when he asked me if he could pick out some fabrics for his quilt.  It then became a hodge podge of colors and patterns and that’s when it hit me….I’ll make it the same as Andy’s!  One day I will make Matty a quilt too and I love knowing that all three, although different colors, will still look the same.  The fabric’s that I used were ones that he picked out, I picked out, a few from Andy’s quilt that I made as a wedding gift 10 years ago, and even a crib sheet of his that has sharks on it.  It shouldn’t be surprising that he picked the green backing, but I did pick the star quilting pattern.  He loved his quilt and that makes my heart melt.
