For lunch today, I went up to Dade City to meet Catie at Lunch on Limoges. In a good old southern town we had raspberry tea, fried green tomatoes, celery soup, and chicken salad croissants. But that wasn’t the best part…Mama Behling told me she was expecting!!! Squeal with delight!!! 🙂 Although I forgot to have our picture taken together, Davy thought it was still important to get at least one of me… 🙂

Every morning Molly jumps into the car to take the boys to school. The air has been cooler and the boys love to roll down their windows in the morning… Guess who else loves the cooler air??!!!

The boys have really been into playing basketball with Andy lately, the poor guy can barely walk through the door at night before the boys are jumping on him to go play… One day we will miss these moments, but for now I am definitely making sure that I capture them on my camera…

This week has been such a busy week, I really haven’t had much time to run…so Andy gave me the morning off from family duties. While I went out for my longest run yet, he had a grand ole time playing with the boys. First, they went back out to Brooker Creek so that Davy could show him all of the neat things that he learned and then head off for a hike. Second, they came back home to go for a swim and cool off. Third, the three of them went golfing. Andy loved having a little quality boy time… 🙂

Matty had a birthday party today at Pin Chasers after school for his friend George. Davy and I got our own lane and I realized very quickly that if I’m not careful I could throw my back out….Geeez. Davy did very well with the bumpers up. A few of the older siblings wandered over and I backed out so they could all play together. Matty was so happy to be out with his friends. The cake was delicious, we all had a good time.

Brooker Creek Preserve Field Trip
It’s Field Trip Day to Brooker Creek Preserve!!!
At approximately 8700 acres, Brooker Creek Preserve is the largest natural area in Pinellas County. It consists primarily of forested wetlands and pine flatwoods. The Preserve provides both a unique refuge for native flora and fauna as well as an opportunity for citizens to explore the natural beauty of wild Florida.
The Preserve also serves to protect a significant portion of the Brooker Creek Watershed. A complex of hiking and equestrian trails provide visitors an opportunity to explore the Preserve’s many ecosystems.
There were three different activities for the children. They went into the museum where they watched a film and got to have a hands on experience with different furs, bones, bugs, etc. They each got to net the swamp and see if they could find any critters. Davy was the first to find one of two Crawfish, there was a tadpole, and they saw a Water Moccasin swim by. And lastly, they got to go on a hike which went through 4 different ecosystems: Pinewood Flats, Cypress Swamps, Oak Hammock, Sand Hill.
The kids loved it!

After school today, I took the boys over to Citrus Park Mall. We ate at Red Robin for dinner (Davy’s choice), and then we headed on down to Stride Rite to pick up a pair of Crocs for Davy to have on his field trip. They were told to bring water shoes, and since we really only wear flip flops, we had to run out and get a pair. 🙂 You can see who’s idea the photo was….

We spent most of the morning on the beach, the weather was beautiful and not to hot. The boys boogie boarded, went hunting for jelly fish that had washed up on the shore, and played bocce ball. Ann and I both agreed that life doesn’t get much better than watching your children run, laugh, and play. I love getting the boys out of the house…it is just so good for them. After lunch we packed up and headed back home. We needed to do some laundry and wind down a little to get ready for school the next day.

It is the boy’s Fall break weekend and instead of heading to the mountains, we headed to the beach. Davy’s friend Mikey and his mom invited us out to their beach condo over on Indian Rocks Beach to spend the night. Their friend Alexis came for dinner. They played and then afterwards we roasted smore’s. The sunset was beautiful and we are super thankful to have such sweet friends…
