What a glorious Easter Sunday it was. The family dressed in best pastels and went to celebrate at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church while Davy played with the other children in the nursery.
When we returned Kathy cooked a wonderful meal for Andy, Grandma, Granny and Aunt Barbara that included all of the fixings of a true southern feast. We had ham, beans, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes corn and washed it all down with some tasty iced tea. It was a special day for Davy as he participated in his first easter egg hunt on the family’s grounds, although he was just as interested in the rock’s outlining our driveway as he was the plastic eggs filled with jelly beans and other bounty.
After Kathy’s family left, our immediate family settled in front of the television to watch dad’s favorite sporting event, the Sunday round of the Masters at Augusta National. Despite all of Dad’s rooting, Tiger couldn’t pull it off, although it was nice to see Zach Johnson win, and use the moment to remind us that it was Easter Sunday above all else. All in all, a great day for the family…
