Both boys are to make a Valentine’s box and bring it into school for their Valentine’s Party. Matty will be having a pizza party and Davy is going to have a cookie cake party. They loved decorating their boxes :)…

Well, today was Matty’s big interview day at Berkeley Prep. After months and months of thinking about this day, it has finally come and gone. He is smart, kind, funny, and beautiful….what more could they ask for??!!! At 8:30 on the dot the lady came to get him. She took him by the hand and they just walked off; such a big boy. The only question that I heard was, “Matty, how old are you?” In which he answered 4. He had to rebuild what she built with blocks, cut with scissors, recognize letters and their sounds, write his name, skip, answer questions about his family and draw a picture of them, know his shapes, and perform a few computer activities like matching, etc. They don’t tell you how it goes, but she did comment on how much Matty talked. Love him. At 9:30, right after Matty was Jay’s interview. To celebrate them officially being over we had a playdate. Sejal and I took the boys to the park, out to Burger 21 for lunch, and then came back to our house for a few minutes. Whewww…. Next up is the group interview on Saturday, and then we wait…and wait…until March 16th! Good luck baby boy!

Busy Busy Busy day today!!! Here’s a brief run down of my afternoon/evening: buy Matty outfit for interview tomorrow, run to Sulpher Springs YMCA for Junior League training, Joann’s for fabric to bind the class quilt, library to pick up a book, school to pick up Davy, Matty’s school for parent/teacher conference at 5 (where the basically told me he was the brightest child they had :), his excelling areas being: phonics, alphabet, and hand writing), haircuts for boys, McDonald’s drive thru for happy meals, get gas, pick up Molly from vet (she had her teeth cleaned), home for homework (7’s, spelling, worksheet, author’s tea interview, piano), bath time, 1 20-minute tv show, book time, bed….whew…. Here the boys are looking spiffy after their haircuts….

Today is the 100th day of school. Davy’s project was to cut out words of things that he liked or described him. The letters had to exactly add up to 100, not one letter more or less. 🙂

The weather was so beautiful this weekend so Andy and I took the boys and Molly on a picnic. We headed over to Glencliff park, picked up some Subway, threw down a blanket and laid in the sun for two hours while they played. At the end of the picnic we wandered to the back of the park and found cache log. We had dinner next door for Debbie’s birthday and the Ravens with quarterback Flacco won the Superbowl.

Jennis Friendship Braid Quilt
I decided to surprise Jenni with her quilt. Dad knew that I was going to make her one too, so he suggested that I make it in blue’s and brown’s because those are two of her favorites. So that is what I did! The quilt pattern is friendship braid, with a freehand quilt style. Her quilt isn’t all that large, more of a lap quilt since she likes to lay on the couch. Hope she likes it!…

Dads Black and Yellow Quilt
Back on November, I asked Dad what colors he wanted in his quilt and he quickly says, “Black and Yellow, from my alma mater St. Olaf”. Ok. So I thought and thought about what pattern to use and I finally decided on this one. I was trying to stay away from anything that had stripes because I didn’t want it to look like a bumble bee. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not when all was said and done, but I actually do! I think it came out quite beautiful and I love the swirl quilting pattern that I put in it… Hope he loves it too!
