YAY!!! It’s Matty’s 4th Birthday!!! This year Matty is really into Chuggington trains, so his big birthday present from us was a new Chuggington train set. He loved it. He spent the day with me and then for his birthday surprise I took him to the airport….Emma was flying in with Ms. Kelly to celebrate the weekend with him. They were so happy to see each other that it brought tears to both mine and Kelly’s eyes… Love them so. Happy Birthday Baby!

Mattys Class Birthday Party
We couldn’t have little Matty’s birthday go by without celebrating with his friends at school. He was so excited when I arrived at school, and as we set the tables his little shy side set in. All I wanted was to squeeze him and make him smile. We sang happy birthday, he blew out his candle, and we all cheered. I can’t believe my baby is 4…

Happy 6th Birthday Davy!!!
Our little boy turns 6 today!!! Davy woke up this morning to find a big present in his bed…a new Razor scooter. Since his party is Phineas and Ferb, it just seemed so fitting to buy a themed scooter for him. The scooter was the perfect gift because in the last couple of weeks he has picked up riding the scooter more and more, and his old one was rusted from being left outside over night. Matty also thought of a gift for Davy, a new battery for his Jeep. The two of them hopped in and took off down the driveway this morning…so cute. For breakfast I made him chocolate chip pancakes and sent him to school with a full belly.
Although we celebrated at school yesterday and his party is coming up this weekend, I didn’t want his actual day to be too overlooked…so I asked him what he wanted to do and he said, “Oh, I know…how about a Root Beer Float Party!” That we can do. After dinner we invited the neighbors over and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to our beautiful boy… So proud of him!

Happy 3d Birthday To You Matty Bear
Matty found a Mickey Pirate Ship in his bed this morning when he woke up, and both of the boys were up bright and early playing… Andy and I climbed out of bed and greeted them with smiles. We sang Happy Birthday and I pulled out the pan to make him a big plate of chocolate chip pancakes. These pancakes are special for the boys because we don’t usually give them chocolate for breakfast, I love to watch them squeal with delight.
Next up, Matty had his doctor’s appointment. He weighed in at 34 pounds and is 38.5 inches tall. He is a healthy boy. Afterwards, I took him to two different parks to play. He loves to play outside.
I asked him what he wanted for his birthday night, and he asked for brownies. So with our hats on and our friends all here…we sang to Matty bear and watched him blow out his candle… Here’s to number 3! Love you baby!

Dusty’s 13th Birthday
On April 6th, Dusty turned 13 years old. Andy and I were so excited because there were several times that we didn’t think that he was gonna make it. So what do we do when there is a birthday???… We throw a party!!! With six children under the age of 9, how could we not. We decorated the house with balloons, gifts, cupcakes, and even had a favor for his friend Lucy. I had bought a doggie cupcake, but while we were singing “Happy Birthday” to Dusty he just couldn’t help himself and he took off with a real one. Love him… :O)
Four days later, although we knew it was coming…just not when, it was time for Dusty to go to heaven. He had been having problems over the last couple of weeks with his lower spine and after doing a nerve test, we discovered that he didn’t have hardly any feeling in his back half and subsequently woke up on Sunday morning and was unable to walk.
Dusty really was a wonderful dog and although he will be missed, we know that he is running pain-free through the fields of heaven and eating all the grass that we didn’t allow him to here. Love you Dusty.

Davy Turns “5”!!!
I asked Davy what he wanted his birthday theme to be on his actual birthday and he said, “How to train your Dragon”, a movie that recently came out. Lucky for me the party store had a few items left…so Dragons it is. In continuing with traditions, Davy woke up this morning to find a present in his bed…a new bug catcher kit and breakfast of his choice.
In his class, the way the celebrate birthday’s is by having the child bring in his favorite book so Davy picked, The Elf on the Shelf and It’s Christmas David. He got lucky and Ms. Fruit read both of them. Now we all know that I have to bake a cake on their birthday’s and this time I decided to get creative and make his in the shape of a “5” and I didn’t do so bad if I do say so myself.
He was so excited when he walked in the door. I had decorated with balloons and streamers and picked up happy meals for him, Matty, and his friends next door. Of course we couldn’t wait to give him his present, so we got right to it!
This card was a singing card…he loved it. And I wish that I had captured the true look on his face when he opened his present…but don’t worry, Andy got it on video…priceless, mouth dropped open, shocked, thrilled beyond belief…he was so happy…

Our Pump-It-Up Birthday Party
This year we decided to do one really large birthday party for the boys at Pump-It-Up, a warehouse that is filled with all different types of jump houses. I let Davy decided where he wanted the party, and as I listed off the different places such as: movie theater, bowling alley, the house… and then Pump-It-Up, his face just lit up and he says, “Mama, can we really have my party at Pump-It-Up??!!!” How can you say no to that? So that’s it. As easy as that. As for the theme, he originally wanted rockets and space, but somewhere along the way he decided that he wanted it to be pirates again. And to be honest, pirate party favors are a lot easier to get than rockets… :O)
The boys had a really good turn out of kids to their party. There were old friends, new friends, school friends, and neighborhood friends. We were excited for them.
After the party was over we went home, the boys took a much-needed rest, and then we opened the presents! There were so many and I was so involved helping them and writing down who gave us what…that I forgot to take a few pictures. Oh well… :O) Jamison and Molina came over to play with the new toys and for dinner we all went over to the new burger joint, Burger 21. The kids loved their dinner and even more so they loved their milkshakes!!!

Matty’s Birthday Breakfast…
The birthday tradition that we have in our house is: every year when the boys wake up they find a present in their bed, we hear them over the monitor, and then shortly after we barge in to their room and sing “Happy Birthday to You!!!” You can see here that we surprised poor Matty and he was confused as to what we were doing….
This year Matty’s gift was Chuck the Truck! He rumbles and talks when you push different buttons…
For Matty’s Birthday Breakfast, I made him banana pancakes covered with strawberries and whipped cream! Yum Yum!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Matty Bear!!!
To kick off Matty’s 2nd birthday, we surprised him with a party in his classroom at school today, November 15th. After looking at our schedules, we decided that we would be able to give Matty more birthday time if we started the day before rather than just on his actual birthday. When it came to deciding what theme the party would be, it was between Mickey and trains; and since he was Mickey for Halloween…this was the perfect opportunity to shine something else that he loves. Granny, Andy, Davy, and I all show up to his classroom with cupcakes, snacks, and balloons for everyone… he was so happy to see all of us. The class sang him happy birthday and he just beamed with smiles.
After we left the school, we headed home and again surprised Matty with Thomas decorations, a big homemade cake, and a giant singing Thomas balloon. Davy immediately ran and gave him a big hug when we got home.
Now of course we couldn’t wait until after the cake to give him his presents…sooo… From mom and dad he got his first big boy bike, from Davy a Cars helmet, from Papa a Little Peoples Car Garage, and from Granny the Slinky dog from the movie Toy Story (it looks like Maggie).
After presents were opened, Andy cooked up one of Matty’s favorite meals: grilled hot dogs, cheese puffs, chips, and strawberries. I took down the baby swing off of the swing set, and put up a lowered big boy swing just for Matty.
Kelly and the kids came over to help us sing Happy Birthday to Matty and eat cake. I was so proud of Matty. He wanted to wear the hat and he actually blew out his own candles. Such a sweet boy.
Off to bed Matty goes in his new birthday Thomas jammies…. Can’t wait to wake up and sing to you tomorrow morning birthday boy…. :O)
